Guitar Player - July 2009 issue
The Dragon's Boost control has a lot of range, so finding a level that works for your particular rig and playing style is just a matter of dialing it until you find the setting that makes your clean tones sound fuller and more present, and your overdrive tones assume some fire-breathing attitude.

Premier Guitar - November 2008 issue
...The real strength of this pedal is in its balance and transparency. It offers a single stage, broad frequency boost to give your tube amp a serious front-end push. If you just need more volume for clean leads and solos, and you want to preserve the essential tone of your rig, the Dragon's transparency makes it a very good pick. Up to about noon, it made my Tele's single coils sound beefier through several different amps, but with no extra brightness, midrange hump, or loss of clarity on the low end.

Guitar World - October 2008 Issue
...The Flying Dragon's performance is dictated largely by the strength and style of the incoming signal. With passive single-coils and moderately powered humbuckers, the Dragon boosts the signal with the clarity of a forensic microscope. Active pickups and hot humbuckers can excite the Dragon into boutique-quality overdrive that's on par with the super-defined gain found in some of the world's most expensive amplifiers.

The ToneQuest Report - September 2007
...Well, gang, we're not sure how much of a flowery, adjective laden description the Flying Dragon requires...Just fire up any of your favorite guitar and amp rigs, step on the 'Dragon, and true to Dave Malone's words, you get more of the same unaffected signal boosted across the entire frequency range with no faux distortion, low end loss, treble roll-off or mid boost. As Steve Miller claims (and it's true), "Your sound... just more." How much more depends on how far you twist the single volume knob.

Dave Malone - The Radiators
"Have you ever been in the middle of a solo and wished that you just had "more" of what you were already hearing? The Flying Dragon is more of exactly what you're sending the amp, and it also works great with every other pedal I use and all my amps."

"The Flying Dragon has become an essential part of my pedal board, the perfect stepping stone between a good straight tone and an over-driven, Tube Screamer induced tone. Adds depth to Fender or Gibson guitars in a subtle but very useful way by broadening the quality of the lows and low-mids. Does great with an acoustic guitar too. Really enjoying it."
John Lisi - John Lisi and Delta Funk, The Bryan Lee Blues Band
"I gotta tell ya' - we have been stuck with some crappy back-line amps and the Dragon saves my ass every night!!!!"
Phil Maniatty, Stone Groove Recording Studio
"This is the coolest pedal I own. It makes everything sound better and the slight breakup it delivers in the last quarter stage is like nothing I have ever heard and is something I have always wanted. Truly a "must have" pedal."

"I just wanted to let you know that the FD showed up safely and that you've built one outstanding boost pedal. I've been using a **** as my main boost for about 5 or 6 years now and nothing has even come close (and I've tried a lot of them) to knocking it of my board until your Flying Dragon. It does everything I use the **** for without coloring my tone and no buffer. It's exactly what I've been looking for.

"The 'Dragon is absolutely amazing! I can't begin to tell you how many boost pedals/pedal combos I have tried in the past to get the sound I want, and be able to cut through the mix. The 'Dragon did it. Most boost pedals I have used colored my sound...and I'm not talking about cheapo pedals either! I have used ****, ****, **** none of them hold a flame to the 'Dragon. Like I said before, I have 2 other guitar players in my band.. Both of them have higher wattage amps than I have (even though I play lead). Usually I have to set my amp incredibly hot to cut through for lead work. Last night I plugged in, turned down the Master volume, threw the 'Dragon behind my Xotic BB and Peterson tuner and rehearsed - business as usual. UNTIL that very first solo. I stomped on the 'Dragon and cut right through the mix perfectly w/ out loss of tone or gain! It really was "my sound but more". Bandmates just looked at me as I was smiling and jamming away. Best part about it was that one of the other guys just bought a **** for his Bogner. He attempted to do some lick work behind me in octaves...He didn't come close. He then cranked the **** - still didn't come close. All I can say is that he was completely irate AND he can't return it either!"

"Subject:Leaping Lizards!! WOW"
Hopefully the subject line of this email made you smile. What a first class operation you have! I'll get to the pedal in a moment, but I just want to thank you for the top notch treatment. From the personal phone call and emails to the packaging and extra goodies. I was like a kid on Christmas morning opening that box. 'Look a T-Shirt, and picks!' And the lizard! Haha, Nice touch. :)
Then I got to the really good part...The Flying Dragon!! Man, It does everything you said it would. My 52RI Tele is breathing fire now. Fantastic. It's my sound, just more. Lots more! I love it already. Looks great, sounds great! I'll bet I could lick it and it would taste great!
Kudos to you for a great product, and TQR for leading me to it. I'll tell everyone I know about the 'Dragon. Best of luck with Lizard Leg Effects, I hope you are successful beyond your dreams.

"Just to confirm what everyone else has been saying all along ... kick ass pedal!!!
I went through quite a few boosters, clean and dirty, treble boosters, low gain ODs ... etc. Some of them good, some of them great but none really what i was looking for. Most of them imparted a sound on their own and some just compressed a bit too much for my taste.
I really wanted something I can use in front of my Keeler Push which is my main OD since I got it. I even tried ****** for that job and as nice as that pedal sounded on it's own, it did not gel with Push in the way I was hoping it too. I also tried running a compressor in front to goose up my main rhythm sound when needed. Basically what I was looking for was a pedal that will allow me to have exactly the same sound I get with Keeler Push but with more saturation and gain when needed.
Well ... the 'Dragon did exactly that. Plus, on it's own, it's the best boost I've tried so far. Cranked all the way it makes my Dr. Z Route 66 crunch like a mo-fo!!!
Thanks Steve, you ROCK!!!"
